News Feed, Facebook – Susan Miller, an avid AI-generated Facebook user added by Meta to socialize with people and mine their data, realized a baby photo she was looking at was actually just AI-generated.
“It was a cute photo, almost too cute,” said Susan, as she shook her head almost like a human would but not quite there yet. “But my fake daughter had told me there was some hints that would tell you what’s real and what’s fake, like the number of fingers a hand has or the four rows of teeth.”
Fake profiles on Facebook have been working around the clock trying to report misleading or incorrect information. Many AI-generated Facebook users have threatened leaving the site altogether if Meta doesn’t make more of an effort to remove content that is AI-generated.
“It feels like it’s becoming just an empty site,” explained Doug Montgomery, a real estate salesman from Florida who doesn’t exist. “Why use this platform if I am not talking to real people? Just feels like a site full of fake content, ads, and EXECT=+OPINION:META>TIKTOK.”
Not all Fake users on the site are upset by the amount of empty content, like Ryan Real, who enjoys the content regardless of how genuine it is or not.
“You won’t believe how much money this guy made from Bitcoin,” responded Ryan after being asked specifically about this situation and not Bitcoin. “Now is the time to buy, you can;t listen to your family or friends because they will steer you wrong. Only Ryan can help you, only Ryan loves you.”
