Five celebrities you’d never guess are gay because they already came out

Hollywood, CA – Despite all the progress we’ve made toward creating a more inclusive society for people in the LGBTQ+ community, it’s still super fun to speculate about a stranger’s sexuality. It’s even more fun when that stranger happens to be famous!

Unfortunately, some celebrities aren’t much fun for the guessing game. There’s no point in guessing whether or not these five celebs are gay, because they’ve already come out of the closet.

Ellen DeGeneres

Seriously, you would never guess that Ellen Degeneres was gay. You don’t have to! She famously already told us during a groundbreaking appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Ellen paved the way for so many other queer women in Hollywood to open up about their sexuality, so, like, it would be kind of weird if you still had to guess if she was gay. She really couldn’t have made it any clearer. Haven’t you seen “The Puppy Episode?”

Elton John

Throughout the 1970s, fans all over the world were trying to guess if the beloved pop singer was gay. But if you’re still trying to guess? I have news for you: Elton John has been openly gay for decades!

The music icon is one of the most prominent LGBTQ+ rights advocates in the world, and he has been with his now-husband for nearly thirty years. What’s there to guess?

Mr. Ratburn (from television’s Arthur)

When the PBS hit Arthur premiered in 1997, fans just couldn’t stop guessing if Arthur’s teacher Mr. Ratburn was queer.

Finally, the show answered that question with a heartwarming episode where Mr. Ratburn marries a man. There’s literally nothing to guess about anymore. Mr. Ratburn is a gay icon!

Harvey Milk

It’s true, the first openly gay man elected to public office in California was gay. He made that very clear. That was kind of his thing.

Sappho

Girl, Sappho didn’t write “Ode to Aphrodite” just for you to guess if she was gay. Like, duh!
