Trudeau leaves note on pillow for Barack, slips out door

WASHINGTON D.C. – As the President of the United States showered, a reluctant left a note on the pillow explaining why he had to leave, then quickly exited the Lincoln bedroom, shutting the door softly behind him.

“My dearest Barack,” the note reads. “I could not bring myself to say these words to your face, so I hope you will forgive my cowardice. Though I have cherished each and every one of our moments together these last few days, I must return to Canada.”

“I only hope that your memories of this official state visit are as beautiful and enchanted as mine will surely be.”

Reporters and onlookers have noted how close the two heads of government have become during the visit, from their first “meet-cute” to the flirtatious teasing they engaged in during the official press conference.

aides said the President had not felt this way about anyone since being spurned by Finnish President .

However, as the Prime Minister’s note acknowledged, no one could have anticipated how quickly things would progress.

“How could I have known that the initial fondness I felt for you after our call in November would grow into such a consuming passion in such a short while? Has it really only been two days? I could have sworn we shared a lifetime together.”

After finding the note the Commander-in-Chief’s shoulders slumped and he allowed himself a moment of despair. But just a moment. Then he straightened up and got ready for the day. There would be another.
