Kawhi asks Toronto restaurant if that Ka’wine & Dine offer still stands

– A few minutes after the announcement that he was being traded back to the walked into a Queen street restaurant and asked for a meal on the house.

“What it do, baby,” said Leonard as he walked into the entrance of Cafe Bernard on Queen Street. “I’ll take 3 cacio e pepes, and a charcuterie board for 4 to go please.”

When presented with the bill Leonard then smiled, shook his head and said ‘you can put that on Larry OB’s tab,” before miming a bouncing on the rim 4 times and then falling in.

Ka’Wine & Dine was a pledge made by many Toronto restaurants in the summer of 2019 that Leonard would never have to pay for a meal if he re-signed with the championship winning Toronto Raptors. However Leonard opted instead to sign with the L.A. Clippers, a team so cursed they make the Leafs look competent.

“We were kind of hoping to get a still in his prime Kawhi signing with a Raps team that had Lowry, Siakam and Van Vleet, instead of a 35 year old on his last leg,” said Cafe Bernard manager Bryan Hopkins. “But we forgot to take the sign off the window, so I guess that’s legally binding.”

In related news, Kawhi’s Uncle Dennis had already arranged a meeting with Premier Doug Ford that experts are calling “an unstoppable force of corruption meeting the most movable object (as long as the object is moving in the direction of corruption).”
