Yukon RCMP investigating why man assaulted by police officer wasn’t shot

are investigating an incident caught on video showing one of their members inside a home assaulting a man and not shooting him.

“This is a disturbing video,” said Sgt. Nathan O’Reilly of RCMP’s M Division at a press conference. “At first, there appears to be the standard entry without a warrant, followed by a tackle and procedural punches to the face. However, there were no subsequent tasering and shooting of the assailant. We are currently investigating on why this standard protocol was not followed.”

“At the very least, the assailant should have been handcuffed, driven 40 miles out of town and abandoned in a remote location effectively resolving the situation,” added Sgt. O’Reilly.

Yukon RCMP also reminded the public never to use video or voice recording devices within 100 meters of a police officer, or else they might be arrested for disturbing the peace or whatever other charge that might be remotely believable.

At press time, many locals who have never been pinned to the floor and punched in the face by police were defending the actions of the officer.
