First robin of Spring almost completely unfrozen

SUDBURY, ON – A robin has been sighted in Chelmsford park, almost entirely free of ice. As any Canadian knows, the emergence of the robin from its annual cryogenic cycle is a sure sign that spring is here.

Lisa Gorr is currently leading a team of naturalists charged with caring the robin until the thin layer of ice keeping it fixed to the ground finally melts.

Their main activities consist of feeding, guarding, and singing ‘Let it go’, from the Frozen soundtrack to the bird.

Gorr and her team are still deciding what to name the robin. They are currently tied between Robin William and Please God Let This Winter End.

Environment Canada would like to remind readers that if you decide to defrost a frozen robin, make sure to consult the official website regarding proper thawing measures. Microwaving, tumble-drying, or boiling robins is strongly discouraged.
