Trump demands Canada give him all their Olympic medals

OTTAWA – Following the closing ceremonies of the 2026 , ’s athletes received an unusual message from President of the United States , stating simply “Give me all of your Olympic medals.”

The blunt demand arrived amidst ongoing trade negotiations, and was delivered at 1am via Trump’s Truth Social platform. “Canada wouldn’t have anything without us, the trade deficit is so high, they’re ripping us off, we subsidize all their athletes, they’re American funded athletes. Canada doesn’t even want them, and they won’t even employ their best one, Wayne Gretsky.”

Posting on X, formerly Twitter, Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed Canada’s various Olympic medals were of strategic vital importance to American security, insisting they were needed to ‘deter aggression’ by affirming the United States’ position as the preeminent world power.

“How will other countries respect and us, and acceding to our demands if we don’t come out of the with the most medals?” Rubio insisted, further asking that the Canadian government should hand the medals over in the interest of shared national defence.

“We want the silver medals your men’s team got after throwing the finals, just like your women’s team did,” Rubio added.

Speaking at a press conference, National Security Advisor Stephen Miller said the U.S. would employ multiple different measures to coerce the transferal of Canada’s medals, including raising 100%, blowing up the Gordie Howe bridge with a Tomahawk Land Attack Missile, and blocking the airing of hit Crave series Heated Rivalry in on HBO Max.

“Nothing is off the table,” Miller claimed. “We will have the medals. Willingly, or not.”

In a follow up Truth Social post, Trump seemingly confirmed the state department’s stated reasons for desiring Canada’s medals, saying they were needed to ‘send a message’ to America’s greatest geopolitical enemy: Norway.

“They wouldn’t give me the Peace Prize, and they won’t hand over Greenland, so there’s no way we’re letting them win the Olympics,” Trump stated in his post.

This morning, Prime Minister Carney suggested trading Canada’s Olympic medals for every Stanley Cup victory won by an American team with majority Canadian players.
