Trudeau promises that if elected he will be Prime Minister

OTTAWA – During a speech to Liberal supporters, took time to promise the Canadian public that if his party is elected to government, he will make sure that he serves as the head of that government.

“More than anything, this country needs a leader who was chosen by the populace,” said Trudeau to a packed audience of Liberal supporters. “If you elect me, I will be that leader.”

Trudeau went on to outline many other bold initiatives that his government would take, including raising and lowering the parliamentary flag, sitting on the government side of the House of Commons, and representing Canada at meetings with the leaders of other countries.

“If I’m elected, I swear to assign other elected members of my political party to cabinet positions,” said Trudeau. “Furthermore, those cabinet positions will oversee various responsibilities of the government, such as lakes and fisheries, healthcare, and finance. Try getting that deal from Mr. Harper.”

Trudeau’s platform is turning heads in Liberal circles for it’s strong, uncompromising ideology, which stands in stark contrast to the more milquetoast Liberal policies of the past decade.

“It’s a bold vision for the future,” said lifelong Liberal voter Teresa Laurie. “Finally, a leader who promises to pass all legislation that a majority of MPs vote in favour of.”

However some voters are not convinced by the Liberal leader’s promises.

“Sure, he makes all these big claims about living at 24 Sussex for the next four to five years,” said electrician Alex Sanchez. “But when has any politician actually kept a promise?”
