Harper proposes travel ban on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside

VANCOUVER — Vowing to keep Canadians safe, Prime Minister promised to criminalize travelling to Vancouver’s notorious Street.

Harper made the announcement wearing a bulletproof vest, flanked by heavily armed police while standing at the intersection of Main and Hasting.

“This area is under the control of Insite radicals and supporters,” Harper explained referring to Canada’s first safe injection site. “Canadians have no business going into such a dangerous neighbourhood and will be promptly arrested if they attempt to enter.”

Harper described the dangers of single-vacancy hotels and the presence of drug dealers, pimps and hipsters.

“We will only permit Canadians to re-enter once wealthy property developers take control of the area and gentrify it,” Harper added.
