Quebec construction magnate cites lack of falling concrete as proof her house isn’t made of misappropriated overpass parts

LAVAL – A Quebec construction tycoon who was accused of using parts intended for Montreal’s public transit network to build her house announced that she must be innocent because her home is still standing.

Suzanne Bibeau made a statement to assembled members of the press while standing in front of her garage, which could fit a metro car if she didn’t have her BMW parked in it.

“My family owns multiple construction companies,” said the sister of former Liberal party fundraiser Marc Bibeau. “Therefore, we know better than anyone how suicidal it would be to live in a house made of parts destined for overpasses. This mansion would have collapsed by now.”

Bibeau’s lawyer, Gabe Rosenfeld, explained that his client is the victim of a tragic misunderstanding.

With her family’s background in construction, of course she would want to live in a house that looks like Quebec’s public infrastructure,” he explained. “But that doesn’t mean it’s stolen.”

Rosenfeld also stated that the traffic lights mounted on Bibeau’s patio and the Metro-like escalator down to the construction boss’ wine cellar are mere coincidences.

“If the viaduct doesn’t fit in the jacuzzi, you must acquit” Rosenfeld said to the press.
