“Restore merit, end DEI” says man who could only get elected in Canada’s safest Conservative stronghold

OTTAWA – leader has launched a petition to “end programs and restore merit”, just months after losing his own heavily-favoured seat before running in an even more heavily-tilted by-.

The online petition, titled “DEI spending and government waste needs to DIE”, is endorsed by a leader who demanded a costly by-election after forcing a legitimately elected MP to step aside so he could run in a 74% ± 7% Conservative riding.

, who was only able to gain access to the House of Commons by winning the electoral equivalent of a child’s T-Ball game, claims that “DEI should be dismantled and meritocracy should be restored. Sign here if you agree.”

The petition goes on to rail against government funding being allocated via “identity checkboxes”, presumably identities such as “Conservative”, “white”, and “looks like Milhouse”.

The Opposition Leader, who insists he could totally find his new Battle Rover-Crowfoot riding on a map but just doesn’t want to, did however find time to speak at length about a need to “put an end to the imposition of woke ideology in the federal public service”.

“We must replace woke culture with warrior culture,” says the MP who lost an easily-winnable Carleton riding in April, and needed to be handed a riding so blue that it could be mistaken for Frank Sinatra’s eyes.

Across the country, Canadians are reacting to Poilievre’s anti-DEI petition.

Bill Redmond of Edmonton notes, “ needs to get rid of its bloated DEI programs, and invest that money back into programs. Also yes, I do own several Tim Hortons franchises, why do you ask?”

Karen Mantello, of Woodbridge, ON, adds, “By tying research funding to identity , the Liberals are undermining academic freedom and silencing dissenting voices, like my voice, and my pretty messed-up ideas about people that don’t look like me.”

Abed Darwish, of Halifax, says, “I’m in favour of ending the DEI programs, because that will make housing more affordable, right? Right?”

At press time, Pierre Poilievre’s advance team is hard at work screening his next press availability to out any journalists that might ask him a difficult question.
