Tom Hiddleston releases sad break-up song about Taylor Swift

— Coming off his recent split with , actor has penned a soulful ballad about the pain he has experienced since the end of the relationship.

Titled “Trouble on my Doorstep”, the song has already sold over 300,000 copies on iTunes and seems poised to be the song of the autumn. The hit is a first for the accomplished 35-year old British thespian seen by many as “America’s Sweetheart”

“My heart just felt like it needed to scream out and when I listened rather closely, this song is what came forth,” Hiddleston said in a series of tweets, “I had a nice long chat with my chaps and they agreed I should write it #squadrongoals”.

Despite being new to the music scene, Hiddleston has long chronicled his series of emotional and turbulent break-ups in his choice of film roles. Friends of the actor have confirmed that his role as Loki in Thor and the Avengers was an expression of grief at the loss of a particularly mischievous lover. Similarly, Hiddleston’s recent Emmy-nominated role in The Night Manager came hot on the heels of the end of his relationship with a night manager. His brief but passionate fling with a Swedish Chef also inspired his cameo appearance in Most Wanted, projecting the pain he felt.

Although Taylor Swift is not mentioned by name in the song, several of the lyrics make clear the motivating factor and Hiddleston’s lack of expertise in song composition, including: “Three months together but it felt like a week/ You were Edith to my Thomas in my film ,” “You taught me to learn that no man is an island/You all should come see me in Kong: Skull Island,” and “My agent asked you out to get people talkin’/ La la la la la la la .”

Given that “rich and famous people feel feelings much stronger than normals,” Hiddleston reportedly hopes that the intense emotions he has communicated will help less-famous people get through their own break-ups. Fans supportive of Taym Swoddletwift, as the media dubbed the couple, have begun candle-lit vigils at the offices of Scheinhardt, Morgan, and Benson LLP, the law firm where the relationship paperwork was first signed in triplicate.

Not to be outdone, Taylor Swift has apparently embarked on the drafting of a Homeric 14-hour epic poem detailing her own complex feelings about the break-up.
