Local child wants to push button

This afternoon, witnesses report a woman walking with a 5-year-old girl who loudly proclaimed her desire to push the button at the crosswalk.

“She was really pushy,” said James P. Garland, a local welder who was walking behind the child at the time of the incident. “Before her mother could press the button she interjected with ‘No. I want to push the button!’”

According to reports, the little girl proceeded to press the crosswalk button far more times than was necessary to activate the blinking lights that alert traffic of your intention to cross.

“I stopped my car but she just would not stop pressing the button. I waited a good 7 seconds before her mom pulled her away and forced her to cross,” said motorist Cynthia Diaz.

This is not the first time this child was seen making forceful requests to press a button. Last December, she was seen by several guests at a hotel in London Ontario, demanding to press the button to get on the elevator. Once inside she pressed several floor buttons, none of which she was staying on, while onlookers were powerless to stop her.

In order to prevent similar incidents, the city is planning to install an automated stop light to replace the crosswalk in question.
