Mississauga, ON – Former high school sweethearts, Ashley Richards and Derek Knobely, have reignited their love after he gained 20 pounds and she added several inches to her waistline.
“Originally I ended things so I could focus on my junior hockey career,” said Sportchek sales rep Derek. “But when I saw her in the mall about 100 grams ago, the flame just kind of reignited.”
“Sure it’s too bad that we missed out on all those kilos together, but we’re doing our best to make up for it,” he added as he lined up at the KFC by his work.
For her part Ashley said she was also delighted to be back together.
“I actually saw Derek at a Baton Rouge about 1/1000th of a tonne ago, but I was too embarrassed to go over and say hi because of my weight gain. Fortunately by the next time we saw each other he had caught up to me!”
At press time the happy couple have announced that they plan on getting married minus twenty pounds from now.
