34-year-old father barely has time to operate Twitter parody account

KITCHENER – Citing a hectic work schedule and a seemingly endless list of obligations to his wife and children, local husband and father Jason Forrey recently lamented that there were simply not enough hours in the day to update his satirical Twitter account.

“It’s hard to balance the pressures of career and family with the demands of being a fictional, online personality,” said Forrey, whose Twitter account @Neil_Degrassi_The_Next_GenerTyson humorously recounts episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation as explained by famed cosmologist Neil deGrasse Tyson.

“Some days I may only have two or three hours to sit down and bang out some gut-busting tweets,” the 34-year-old claims adjuster and father of three sighed.

Forrey, who described his Twitter feed as “the next Modern Seinfeld,” explained that the key to maintaining the crucial work-life-Twitter balance is learning to multitask.

Family vacations, church sermons, visits to elderly relatives: all are filled with extended lulls and ‘boring periods’, giving you ample time to fire off a few extra tweets, Forrey pointed out.

When asked whether he prioritized his online presence above the needs of his immediate family, Forrey shot back: “sure my family depends on me, but they’re only four people. Compare that to the 39 people who depend on me for their daily dose of belly laughter.”

“You do the math.”
