Harper prorogues parliament to catch up on Breaking Bad, Mad Men

WHITEHORSE – Prime Minister Harper announced today that he will be proroguing Parliament until October so he can get up to speed with his favorite AMC shows.

“This has been a grueling three years since the last time I prorogued parliament” Harper said while on an Arctic tour to promote northern sovereignty. “I’m tired of feeling out of the loop at these important diplomatic meetings. Canada’s interests are represented when I can empathize with characters like Walter White and Joan Harris. I’m so far behind that I didn’t even know Don Draper had a new wife!”

Harper was embarrassed after being left out of an animated discussion between US Barack President Obama, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel about Season 5 of Breaking Bad at the 2013 G8 Summit in Ireland.

“I was quite shocked to hear that there was an explosion at Casa Tranquila from the Japanese Prime Minister” Harper added.

The Prime Minister has set up stringent rules to prevent his ministers from spoiling episodes. Peter Kent was reportedly kicked out of cabinet for slipping out to Harper that Lady Sybil had died on Downton Abbey.
