Teenager reported lost for five years reappears playing Pokemon Go

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A teenager who was once reported lost for five years has reappeared staring at his cellphone playing Go.

Jason Waterfield was just 15 years old when the Medicine Hat high schooler disappeared into the basement at his parents’ house on the evening July 26th, 2011 and never came back up. This date also coincided with the North American release of first person puzzle platform game ‘Portal 2’.

“We nearly gave up hope,” explained a tearful Martha Waterfield, Jason’s mother. “We just kept praying for some miracle software developer to create a game that would bring our Jason back.”

Friends and colleagues were also happy to see Waterfield was alive and no longer had to see his face on milk cartons or police reports.

“I couldn’t believe it!” exclaimed former classmate Tariq Bahman. “He walked right by without noticing me, anyone else, or his geographical surroundings. I’m glad he’s not dead.”

The pasty-white and natural light-sensitive Waterfield made no comment on his whereabouts but muttered to himself about too many Zubats and Digletts before accidentally walking into a mailbox.
