Quebec judge will sentence defendants to the fullest extent of being Muslim

MONTREAL – After denying to hear a case of a woman simply because she was wearing a , Judge Eliana Marengo has vowed to sentence lawbreakers according to how they are.

“My interpretation of the law is sound,” Judge Marengo stated. “I will sentence according to the extent of their religious dress, their dedication to faith and whether they find a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad acceptable.”

However, mitigating factors in sentencing include whether the accused can show they eat pork on a regular basis.

“The previous defendant was lucky she wasn’t wearing a , otherwise I would’ve thrown the book at her,” added Judge Marengo.

At press time, Judge Marengo was sentencing a turban-wearing defendant for life imprisonment after receiving a parking ticket.
