New wind farm built solely for clean coal commercials

SASKATOON – consortium NorthAm Power has constructed a 47-turbine wind farm outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, solely for the purpose of being able to feature them in commercials promoting clean coal technology.

“These turbines are really about the future,” said Gabriel Maron, Vice President of Communications at NorthAm.

“Juxtaposing images of our wind farm with images of coal production will allow us to subliminally alter the perception in the public consciousness that clean coal technology is actually possible, even desirable, for generations to come.”

The consortium stated that it engaged in the construction of the wind farm as part of a fiduciary obligation. Having the private windfarm always available will mean they will be able to avoid searching through stock images, licensing the right to record images of another wind farm or simply not have intentionally misleading images in their ads in the first place. NorthAm will be free to use their exclusive images of the two completely unrelated technologies to give an air of environmental responsibility while simultaneously increasing coal production, thus protecting their shareholder’s interests.

“Our members acknowledge the current scientific consensus that climate change is a man-made reality. As some of the world’s leading energy producers, it is imperative that standing up and fighting the growing global environmental crisis is what we appear to be doing,” said Maron.

While the wind farm could produce power throughout the year, in order to ensure that the blades constantly turn at a visually appealing rate, all 47 turbines are powered by a coal plant 180 kilometers away.
