Experts: old celebrities to continue dying in 2017

The last 12 months claimed the lives of an exceptional amount of older celebrities including Alan Rickman, David Bowie, Carrie Fisher, Leonard Cohen and Muhammed Ali, just to name a few. However, experts warn that in the coming year, older celebrities are set to keep dying.

“The thing is they’re getting old,” said Dr. Lewis Sheiner from Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. “When people; celebrity or not, get old, they die! It’s really heartbreaking but it’s part of life. If your parents haven’t died yet, you should ask them about it”.

As regular people, it can be hard for us to fathom the idea of a hero’s death. To help cushion public shock, People Magazine has started compiling a list of celebrities expected to die in the next year. Betty White, Tony Bennett and Jerry Lewis are among the lineup of ‘People To Croak In 2017’.

Dr. Sheiner offered his advice for anyone in the public struggling to accept famous deaths. “Hobbies help. So does having a basic understanding about the concept of mortality.”

“Although the death of more beloved celebrities in 2017 is likely, it’s not an absolute inevitability like war, famine or poverty. If we’re lucky, perhaps 2017 will give us a break on the dead celebs.”
