Mulcair calls on wealthy to donate child benefits to less fortunate political party

LONDON, ON – NDP Leader encouraged wealthy parents receiving the enhanced universal child care benefit to generously give it away to a needy political party.

“The Harper government is giving money to parents who don’t need it and not towards more deserving political parties who can’t make ends meet,” Mulcair said at a press conference. “Some political organizations can’t even afford their own satellite offices and rely on taxpayers to bail them out. Others can’t afford their own attack ads, so they have to pretend to be above doing them.”

Mulcair stated you can donate as little or as much as $1,200 to a political party, preferably one that has been shut in opposition for years and never had the opportunity to form government.

“For just a dollar a day, you can buy shoes for a campaign worker, so he doesn’t have to go door to door in Birkenstocks,” Mulcair pleaded. “But if you donate your child tax benefit within the next ninety days, you’ll receive 50 free, daily emails about how you can donate even more to your political party.”

The NDP Leader ended the press conference with the playing of ’s Angel while showing a series of photos featuring sad, disheveled-looking staffers.
