HEAVEN’S GATES – After his recent passing, legendary Montreal Canadiens Jean Béliveau has already received a request for two autographs by God.
“Holy flying Buddha!” exclaimed the deity for over three billion people after Béliveau approached the Pearly Gates. “Is that Le Gros Bill? Oh man, I wonder if I can get close to him.”
God frantically searched through his jersey collection before returning to the crowd forming around the former Habs captain.
“Can I get two?” said the Almighty sheepishly as he displayed two Habs jerseys to the man who won 17 Stanley Cups, 10 as a player. “I also have a young son who loves you…He is also named God.”
At press time, Béliveau happily wrote his name on the two jerseys without hesitation and smiled.
