WINNIPEG – After the resignation of five cabinet ministers in protest, Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger is attracting the very best replacements with job advertisements on Craigslist.
The online post for ‘Provincial Finance Minister’ was wedged between advertisements for a College Pro Franchise Owner and an Assistant Manager of a local Tim Hortons. The advertisement read: “Must be good with numbers. Good attention to detail. MUST BE WILLING TO LISTEN AND NOT QUESTION EMPLOYER.”
Selinger, who has been under fire for breaking a pledge not to increase the provincial sales tax, said that using a free website didn’t cost the taxpayers a dime and was a great way to connect with potential candidates willing to work on a more ad-hoc basis.
According to the ad, candidates must be willing to work long hours and change policy at a moment’s notice. Working knowledge of Manitoba’s Financial Administration Act is an asset for the position. Interested candidates can send their resumés to PremierGreg_51@hotmail.com.
