OTTAWA – If you think nobody in the world is trying to stop Trump you’re wrong! Justin Trudeau has just tweeted that for every 1000 retweets he gets he’ll raise the cap on private refugee sponsorship by 1.
“If we band together and retweet our heart outs we can make a real difference,” said local woman Adrienne Rich. “There are 12 million refugees without homes. That means all we need is 12 billion retweets!”
The current 2017 cap on Syrian refugees is 1,000 but human rights activists around the world have been hard at work giving Trudeau a total of over 350,000 retweets in less than 24 hours! That’s 350 more refugees, which equates to roughly 0.0029% of the total. Go Canada!
“We cannot stand idly by while Trump throws refugees to the wolves,” said Trudeau in another viral tweet. “But we also don’t want to make too much paperwork for ourselves. It’s a balancing act.”
Amazing. There may be a cap on how many human lives Trudeau is willing to save but there’s certainly no cap on how much we love our Prime Minister!
