Dozens mourn Liberal Party in public ceremony

OTTAWA – The Liberal Party was buried in a quiet ceremony behind ’s East Block yesterday in front of family, friends, and a few loyal, non-NDP onlookers.

In its heyday, the Liberal Party was known for its flamboyance and charm, but time took its toll on the 144 year old. As the casket holding the Liberal Party descended into the grave, some quietly wept, but many said it was for the best. The Liberal Party had been suffering from old age and was showing signs of senility for the last ten years. In the last election, doctors were unable to revive it, and the party finally succumbed after a long battle with humiliation. The Liberal Party is survived by its only remaining son, .
