P.K. Subban’s $10 million donation to children’s hospital is a classic hothead move

Now I know what everybody is thinking about the news that donated $10M to charity, but let me set you straight — this is classic rookie showboating.

We know P.K.’s got talent but this shows you once again that he’s just not a team player.  Flashing his big contract like that, how do you think Dale Weiss feels about only being able to afford girl scout cookies when he wants to do some good? This is typical P.K., hot-dogging his way to a tax refund.

He donated the money, which is fine, but then he went and took all those press photos after? I’m sorry, but that’s just excessive celebration. And then there’s these dumb-dumb reporters who think this behaviour is perfectly fine.

If you look at the replay…roll the clip…now, all you’ll see is Subban all alone on the podium at the hospital about to score big with a giant novelty cheque and he goes in all alone. Where’s the rest of the Habs team?

Look, the kid knows how to donate. I won’t deny that, but he needs a little more humility. He’s just not going to make it in philanthropy acting this way.

And next time, P.K., keep your head down and donate anonymously like a good Canadian boy.
