Local politician apologizes for arachnophobic slur

OSHAWA, ON – After a firestorm of controversy erupted around her use of the phrase ‘creepy-crawly’ last week, local MP Pauline Douglas has apologized for her arthropodist remarks.

“I did not mean to use the term in any derogatory way,” said Douglas. “I value the contributions of both two legged, and eight legged Canadians to our society, and I hope my lack of tact will be forgiven”.

When asked for comment, no spider has had anything to say on the subject, except for when one seemed to form an “S” with its web.

This could be the biggest scandal to rock Oshawa since the former Mayor was lambasted for his lactose-intolerant behaviour.
