If God wanted us to die with dignity he wouldn’t have revoked Dying with Dignity’s charity status

Over the past few decades I have been pained to see Canada straying into Godlessness, from allowing abortions to letting the gays marry. Finally, however, the Harper government is stepping in and doing what it can to set us back on the right path, via political activity audits into “charities.” The most exciting result of this is that those hippies over at Dying with Dignity are now seeing their final days as a legally recognized charity in Canada.

Now some nutjobs think that when one is on the brink of death and suffering immensely, the nice thing to do is to use medicine to allow them a peaceful death at a time of their choosing. That may be the nice thing to do, but is it the Christian thing to do?

As it is said in 1 Corinthians 3:17, “If anyone destroys ’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.” So you see, lying in a pool of your own vomit and excrement while experiencing terrible pain and suffering is in fact holy, and to opt out of life on account of the fact that you feel like white-hot pokers are stabbing every square inch of your body is vandalizing God’s property. Let’s not make the mistake of thinking we’re our own people, okay? I mean, it isn’t even your body! It’s His body, and if He wants it to suffer endlessly then you just have to live (or die! hahaha) with that.

And as Ecclesiastes 7:17 puts it, “Be not overly wicked, neither be a fool. Why should you die before your time?” In other words, anyone who tries to shuffle off this mortal coil before God comes for them is being a damn fool. Why die peacefully to prevent a horrible death in which you risk losing who you are as a person to a cocktail of drugs and pain, when you could risk losing who you are as a person to a cocktail of drugs and pain?

Part of mankind’s sacred covenant with the Lord is the fact that He enjoys watching us suffer much in the same way that a mad scientist enjoys watching lab rats go mad. As such, it is our duty to endlessly suffer the excruciating pain of a messy and fast-approaching death, should He feel it necessary to end us in that way. It isn’t up to us to understanding why He does what He does, all we need to do is understand exactly what we’re pretty sure he wants and act on that. If that means suffering, then bring it on.

I could not be more thrilled to see Dying with Dignity losing its charity status. An organization as vile as that one, espousing unchristian values such as compassion, kindness, and a goal of providing other humans with comfort, is surely a scourge. Seeing its closure is bringing us just one step closer to the cold, vindictive, and cruel Canada that our Lord would surely want.
