CALGARY – A record number of drivers showed up Monday morning for the General Motors Drive for the Cure, an event held yearly in Calgary’s downtown.
Sidewalks were closed off from 8:30am to 5:30pm as riders participated in the event.
“Traffic was kind of bad even though a few people participated by staying at home,” said event organizer, Janet Mitchell, “but otherwise it was our best year yet.”
Riders were encouraged to commute to and from work by car as part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness for the dangers of gout.
