Woman who sold pussy hats in Etsy shop couldn’t make BLM protest

JOSHUA TREE, CA – Brielle Waters, a self-proclaimed feminist who sold in her shop, has reportedly been absent from the Black Lives Matters protests.

“Listen, I wanted to be there – I really did, ” said Brielle Waters, She-EO of The Women’s Collective, an online Etsy store selling crochet cat hats, safety pins, and #NastyWoman shirts. “Before this becomes a “race thing”, though, let me just say that I don’t see colour.”

Waters continued to defend her activism by citing how she posted the black square to Instagram and that, during the Climate Strike, she sold “save the planet” t-shirts made in a factory in Thailand that empowers women by employing them for 85 cents a day. “I donated 8% of the profits, too, so you can’t say I leveraged a social movement for self-promotion.”

Waters also added that, as an Intersectional feminist, she made sure to order shirts from Bagladesh.

Despite being challenged for the hypocrisy of showing up for the Women’s March, largely attended by Americans, versus the many marches, Brielle has decided to block and mute all her critics, especially black womxn, in the name of self-care and establishing emotional boundaries.

“With The Women’s March, I thought the brand was super clear – wear a pussy hat, have a cute photo op, and get brunch after. There was no episode of Fleabag that prepared me for BLM. So, you can’t blame me for not knowing how to participate!” sobbed Waters, who in the past turned to google when she didn’t know something.

At press time, Brielle has committed to being anti-racist by re-watching Girls, pre-ordering the Lana Del Rey Album, and asking her black friend for resources on how to be a better ally.
