OTTAWA – The Mounties are taking a new approach on combating Islamist extremism by calling upon members of the incel community to report anything they see online that calls for Islamist-related violence.
“Project Tunnel Vision” seeks to work with lonely men who call for random violence and who are familiar with the dark corners of the web to seek out the other lonely men who call for random violence in the dark corners of the web.
“We’re working with incels, who pose no national security threat, to root out Islamist radicals, who are a national security threat,” explained Sgt. Marlon Peele, a member of the Integrated National Security Enforcement Teams. “Cooperation is key. There is no better way to root out monsters willing to take innocent lives for the sake of a perverse ideology than the model citizens willing to take innocent lives for the sake of a perverse, ideology based on misogyny.”
The RCMP’s post on 4chan read:
Hey guys, I know you’re just kidding around in here about going on murder sprees, but Islamist extremists like ISIS are out there, so if you spot one give “us chads” LOL a shout. Anyway, have fun in here. ‘Kek’, as you might say.
Federal agencies have refused to classify incel groups as national security threat groups because of limited resources and how “boys will be boys.”
At press time, the RCMP made an additional post reminding members of the chat room that the police force is hiring.
