Liberal man pretends to disagree with Donald Trump’s criticisms of SNL

AUSTIN – Following his fervent opposition to everything President-elect Donald stands for, liberal Witmer Monroe is facing his greatest challenge: having to defend NBC’s sketch institution against Trump’s insults.

“I can’t believe Donald would sink so low as to go after ,” wrote Monroe on facebook. “That sketch where they have Alec Baldwin just say things that Trump said in real life is brilliant satire.”

“And there was that Weekend Update joke where Colin Jost called Trump a Nazi. This is the kind of original writing that we need to protect from the incoming administration,” he added.

Friends report that Monroe, who has only hate watched SNL for years and makes audible “ugh” noises at least several times each episode, has been trying really hard to act like he loves the show in a valiant attempt to find yet another thing Donald Trump is totally wrong about.

“He seems to think it’s some kind of duty of his to love the show now,” said Evelyn Baker. “He even tweeted a clip of that ‘Hillary as Bigfoot’ sketch completely unironically.”

When challenged on the motivation for his defense of SNL Monroe grew defensive.

“This is not just about Trump. I love SNL. I they have Kate McKinnon and uh… that Bobby Moynihan sketch where he plays a . Plus Taran Killam has that Phil Hartman everyman charm,” he said in reference to the actor who left the show last year.

“The point is, Trump attacking Saturday Night Live is an attack on freedom of expression, on the ability of comedy to stand up to the powerful, and we must reject it at every turn.”

At press time SNL had announced that Donald Trump would host their first show after the holiday break.
