Report: Canadian job growth slow due to HR

OTTAWA – A report by has revealed that Canadian job growth has stalled because Human Resource departments don’t have the time to deal with backlog.

“There is no lack of work out there; the department responsible for hiring is just too busy,” said head researcher David Shaw. “Many HR personnel have pointed out that far too much of their time is spent responding to work emails regarding work emails that are concerning another work email complaining about work emails.”

The report reveals that the sheer volume of work emails now takes up 83.4% of the average HR representative’s workday. This leaves a mere 16.6% to comply with their own department’s protocol.

When asked to respond to these allegations, the Association of HR Professionals sent out an auto-reply that read: “We are too busy to reply at the moment but will keep your question on file for the next 17 months and let you know if anything changes.”

“Beyond the stress of overwork these HR departments seem to be chalk full of very, very sad individuals,” Shaw said. “In fact, the seemingly universal hatred that Canadians have for HR appears to be slowing  job growth.”

“As arduous as this might seem to accomplish,” Shaw suggested, “the only solution I have come up with is for all Canadians to begin to show support and general respect for HR workers.”

Shaw warns however that sending an email expressing your appreciation for their hard work will only exacerbate the issue.
