Ontario Liberals historically elect first high-cheekboned, bespectacled premier who was also born in 1953

TORONTO – Political history was made in Toronto over the weekend when became the first Liberal Leader of Ontario that wears glasses while having high cheekbones and who is open about her 1953 birth date.

“Is Ontario ready for a premier with three children, one who also studied linguistics in university? You’ve all heard my opponents ask that question, but let’s say what it actually means: Can a former public school trustee from Richmond Hill with wavy dirty blonde hair and a preference for large button cardigans win? Well have I got an answer for you,” Wynne said to a packed crowd of cheering supporters.

“I do not believe that the people of Ontario judge their leaders on the basis of whether they need bifocals, trifocals or occupational multifocal lenses,” she said, addressing the issue that was on everyone’s mind. “I do not believe that favourite colour or whether you use a Macintosh or Windows based machine comes into play. I don’t believe the voters hold that prejudice in their hearts,” Wynne said.

The groundbreaking victory also positions Wynne as the first premier to have previously defeated Ann Vanstone in a race for ward 12 school trustee in 1994, and the first premier ever to beat someone named Pupatello for the job of premier.

Wynne will take office January 28th, 2013, which also makes her the first premier to ever take office Jan. 28, 2013, and the first premier not named Dalton McGuinty since the guy before Dalton McGuinty. Oh and also she is a gay woman.
