CALGARY – Calgary transit driver Jesse Rau has said that, if assigned to drive one of Calgary Transit’s rainbow Pride flag buses, he will only drive 100% straight on his route.
“Being a Christian, I just can’t condone homosexuality,” Rau said . “I will not give in to the PC agenda of left turns, or any non-traditional lane changes. Just a straight bus, like the good Lord intended.”
For its part, Calgary Transit says its hands are tied, as union rules clearly state that a driver can divert from a planned route as needed to ensure customer safety. Rau’s claim is that he must drive the bus in a straight line “for the safety of passengers’ souls.”
Calgary Transit said they were also considering simply shifting the driver from the pride bus to the “Abortion Is Murder” bus.
