Police arrest Montréal mayor for being short on police bribes

MONTRÉAL – Montréal’s mayor Michael Applebaum was apprehended this morning after falling short on his kickbacks to the police.

“We gave him 24 hours to come up with more money” said Chief Inspector Pierre Loiselle of the Montreal Police Service in a press statement outside City Hall. “He was already late with some previous payments, which really upsets the Chief.” “You don’t wanna upset the Chief.” added the Chief, lighting a cigarette and making eye contact with several reporters.

Applebaum was required to pay off the police every month since asking them to make a few documents and nosy journalists disappear last Spring. The Chief appears not to have forgotten the favour.

Sources say the Chief has never forgotten a favour.

“In addition to 14 charges in fraud, breach of trust and conspiracy,” said Loiselle, “We are also charging Mr. Applebaum with bribing a police officer”
